hmmm… what’s inside?

There is just something about boxes that I have always found truly interesting.
I have always been fascinated by other cultures and artists from around the world. When it comes to home décor, it amazes me that boxes have always been universal. While being used for various purposes, they have been around for centuries representing different cultures and time periods.
They are also somewhat of a mystery.. Since I have some old unique boxes from other countries, I often think of the person’s home it was in before mine, or what the person might have put in it. And how a box from so far away ended up in my possession.
Each person utilizes their box in a different way, which is why it is so personal. Unlike a decorative piece of art, it is what’s inside that varies from person to person. Some may use it for simple desk items like paper clips, while others a place to store their cufflinks, rings, jewelry, or a passport for safe keeping.
Similar to jewelry, they come in all shapes, sizes, colors, & textures. And the selection is enormous. However, when you come across a box that catches your eye, it can add that personal touch to a room, and reflect a part of your personality. They also make a beautiful and special gift, for that person who you are not sure what to get.
Like a typical libra, I am particular about everything, and although I have several completely different styles of boxes, each one captured my eye in a different way.
FYI. There is a line between shopping for accessories to add to a room, and looking like you are a store selling boxes and chachkas ( that’s jewish for “stuff” or “knicknacks” or as I like to call it; more things to dust!..lol)..Shop wisely.
